It’s Just ‘Plane Wonderful’ – at Wellington Place

A man with a passion for planes is helping to keep his neighbourhood’s aviation heritage alive by creating an aircraft cockpit inside his new home.
Dave Larder, a semi-retired joiner, and his wife Terry have moved into a new William Davis home in Market Harborough, at our Wellington Place development – named after the Wellington bombers based in the area in the Second World War.
The couple can now ‘take-off and fly’ anywhere in the world after Dave set-up an aircraft simulator in the spare bedroom.
“I’ve been interested in planes since I was a boy and it’s wonderful to have a room where I can test my skills as a pilot,” said Dave, shortly after completing a flight over the Alps.
“We call this room The Cockpit,” added Terry. “It’s got all the flight controls and you can take off from any airport in the world. The scenery is spectacular.”
Next to The Cockpit is Terry’s home-office, for her work in natural healing, and downstairs they’ve created a music room. “We love the space here – both inside and outside,” said Terry. “There are lots of green areas and the houses are nicely spaced out.”
“Everyone at William Davis has been so helpful and made it easy for us to settle in.”

The couple chose the four-bedroom Beamish after living in a nineteenth century converted school for 27 years. “This is our first new-build home and we couldn’t be happier,” said Terry. “Everyone at William Davis has been so helpful and made it easy for us to settle in.”
They have been so impressed with our attention to detail and customer service that they believe we do deserve even more than the maximum five stars awarded by the Home Builders Federation.
The rating is based on the number of customers who would recommend the housebuilder to a friend. Our company has secured the top five-star status for Eight years running.
“Nothing is too much trouble for them. If there were more stars available, I believe they should get seven – they are that good,” said Dave.
At Wellington Place, nestled in beautiful rural surroundings, our homes have a wonderful range of 2–4-bedroom homes, all beautifully designed inside and out.
