Pilot flies high after finding new base

Thursday 24th August 2023

Kristy Evans is flying high after moving into a brand-new William Davis Homes property at Regency Park in Castle Donington.

Kristy moved from Scotland for her new role as a First Officer with a leading airline company which regularly flies holidaymakers to and from the airport.

“The location is perfect for me and I feel really at home here,” says Kristy, who was born in Australia and came to the UK in 2015. After starting her flying career as a member of the cabin crew, she gained the qualifications to become a pilot.

“When I was at school, I knew I wanted to be a pilot, but it was a very male-dominated profession. So when I told my teachers I wanted to work in the industry they automatically suggested being cabin crew. I just kept working away to get the right qualifications.”

Kristy flies passengers to popular holiday destinations in countries such as Spain, Greece, Turkey and Egypt. “I’ve always enjoyed the freedom of flying,” she says. “The views of the sunrises and sunsets are stunning. It’s lovely to always see the sun.”

The demands of the job mean Kristy is grateful for time to relax at home – and moved into her three-bed Wye last November. As a first-time buyer, she had assistance from the government’s Help to Buy scheme.

“My new home is a perfect place to unwind,” says Kristy. “The garden and kitchen are both south-facing, which is one of the main reasons I chose this plot. It gives me the chance to enjoy the sunshine and relax.”

Kristy is also impressed by the fully integrated high-spec Smeg appliances in the kitchen. Regency Park has a range of 2, 3 and 4–bedroom homes, all beautifully designed inside and out. As well as the nearby airport, the development has excellent travel links.

“The connectivity is really important to me,” adds Kristy. “I can get to places around the country really easily, with the great road and rail links. East Midlands Parkway is close and I can also drive to the Peak District because I love the countryside too.”

Working in the airline industry, customer service is also important to Kristy – and she was very impressed with the help she received from sales consultant Pamela at Regency Park.

“Pamela is so friendly and I can’t speak too highly about her,” says Kristy. “She’s been wonderful throughout the buying process and helped me secure the home I wanted.”

William Davis Homes has received the industry’s prestigious five-star award for the eighth year in row. It’s based solely on independent customer satisfaction surveys. Buyers can benefit from a range of incentives, including the £750 a month mortgage subsidy (subject to t&c’s).
